Start With a Hail Damage Roof Inspection Before Filing a Claim

After a hail storm, the most important first step is a professional roof inspection. Some roofs need only targeted repair. Some need storm damage roof repair, emergency leak protection, or full hail damage roof replacement. Others may not need a claim at all. Colorado Pro Roofing helps homeowners understand visible damage before making expensive or rushed decisions.

🔍

Hail Damage Roof Inspection

We inspect shingles, ridge caps, valleys, vents, flashing, gutters, skylights, and visible storm-related conditions to determine whether hail damage is present.

📷

Roof Damage Documentation

When visible damage is found, clear documentation can help homeowners understand the condition of the roof and prepare for insurance-related conversations.

Repair vs. Replacement Guidance

We help determine whether hail damage roof repair, storm restoration, continued monitoring, or roof replacement after hail damage makes the most sense.

Insurance Claim Roofing Assistance

We provide roof insurance claim support, adjuster meeting help when appropriate, supplement guidance, and compliant storm restoration recommendations.

Roof Damage From Hail

What Happens When Hail Strikes a Roof?

Hail damage is a bad thing because it can weaken the parts of the shingle that protect your home, even when the roof does not leak immediately. A roof can look acceptable from the ground but still have shingle bruising, granule loss, fiberglass mat damage, or accessory damage that shortens roof life.

Granule Loss

Asphalt shingles are protected by ceramic-coated granules. When hail strikes with enough force, those granules can be knocked loose. Once granules are gone, the asphalt layer is exposed to UV rays, temperature swings, and faster deterioration.

Shingle Bruising

Large hail can compress the shingle and bruise the asphalt beneath the surface. These bruises may feel soft during a close inspection and can weaken the shingle even if there is no immediate leak.

Fiberglass Mat Damage

Modern architectural shingles use a fiberglass reinforcement mat. Severe hail can fracture or weaken that mat, reducing the shingle's structural integrity and increasing the risk of future cracking, splitting, or failure.

Cracking & Fractures

Hail impact can create cracks in shingles. Colorado freeze-thaw cycles, wind, UV exposure, and seasonal weather can make those cracks worse over time and increase the likelihood of future leaks.

Damaged Roof Accessories

Hail can dent roof vents, pipe jacks, flashing, gutters, downspouts, skylights, and metal components. These collateral damage signs help show how hard the storm hit the property.

Damage Gets Worse Over Time

Hail damage often shortens roof life before it causes an obvious leak. As granules loosen, bruises expand, and weakened materials age, the roof becomes more vulnerable to water intrusion and premature replacement.

Hail Damage Roof Repair

Hail Damage Roof Repair for Localized Storm Damage

Not every hail-damaged roof needs full replacement. If the damage is limited, Colorado Pro Roofing may recommend hail damage roof repair, roof leak repair after a storm, flashing repair, vent replacement, pipe jack replacement, or targeted shingle repair.

Common Hail Damage Repairs

  • Localized shingle replacement
  • Roof vent and metal accessory replacement
  • Flashing and pipe jack repair
  • Storm-related roof leak repair
  • Emergency roof repair or temporary leak protection
  • Gutter, downspout, skylight, and exterior damage review

When Repair May Make Sense

  • Hail impact is limited and isolated.
  • The roof still has meaningful service life.
  • Shingles can be matched and properly repaired.
  • Accessories or vents are damaged, but the field shingles are mostly sound.

When Replacement May Be the Better Path

  • Hail damage is widespread across multiple slopes.
  • The shingle mat is bruised, fractured, or weakened.
  • The roof is older and storm damage accelerated deterioration.
  • Repair will not restore reliable long-term performance.
Roof Replacement After Hail Damage

Hail Damage Roof Replacement for Widespread Storm Damage

When hail damage affects the roofing system across multiple slopes, roof replacement after hail damage may be the better long-term solution. Colorado Pro Roofing installs asphalt shingle roofing systems, impact-resistant options, metal roofing options, synthetic underlayment, valley metal, ice and water barrier in valleys, ventilation upgrades, and code-conscious roofing systems.

🏠

Impact-Resistant Shingles

Class 3 and Class 4 impact-resistant roofing options can be considered for homeowners who want stronger storm performance after hail damage.

🛡

Synthetic Underlayment

Colorado Pro Roofing uses synthetic underlayment on roof installations for improved roofing system performance and cleaner installation standards.

Valley Metal & Ice Barrier

We install valley metal in roof valleys and ice and water barrier beneath valley metal for added protection in vulnerable water-flow areas.

Insurance Roof Replacement

For approved storm damage claims, we help homeowners understand the roof replacement scope, materials, code items, and final project process.

Wind Damage Roofing

Wind Damage Roof Repair After Colorado Storms

Wind damage roofing is closely connected to hail and storm restoration. High winds can lift shingles, crease shingles, tear shingles loose, damage flashing, loosen ridge caps, and drive rain under vulnerable roofing areas.

Wind Damage Warning Signs

  • Missing shingles after a wind storm
  • Lifted or creased shingles
  • Loose ridge caps or exposed fasteners
  • Wind-driven rain and roof leaks
  • Damaged flashing at walls, chimneys, and roof penetrations
  • Emergency tarping needs after severe weather
Storm Damage Restoration

Storm Damage Roofing and Exterior Restoration

Storm damage restoration often involves more than shingles. Hail and wind can affect roofing, gutters, siding, windows, skylights, vents, flashing, painting, and drainage. Colorado Pro Roofing helps homeowners understand the full exterior scope after severe weather.

Scott and his team were great to do business with. Fair pricing. Clear scope and schedule. They stayed in daily communication through a couple weather delays and made sure that I's and T's were taken care of. Highly recommend.
Worked with Scott today, the experience was great very friendly punctual went above and beyond the items I needed help with related to my roof, extreme attention to detail to cover things that I hadn't even seen when I checked it out myself. Would certainly recommend to anybody out there in the springs needing a reliable company.

We recently had Colorado Pro Roofing re-texture and repaint a ceiling and wall that had been damaged by water leakage. The result was outstanding. Both areas match the original texture and color and we couldn't be more pleased. They took great care to ensure there were no paint drips on the wall or floor. All in all an outstanding job. I highly recommend these guys!

Scott was very quick to provide a quote for replacing the gutters on our home, and was flexible working around weather delays. His team got the job done in about a day and with an excellent final product.
Phenomenal job! We had wood shakes that needed to eventually be replaced to lower our home insurance. We got three quotes from different companies. We went with Colorado Pro Roofing because of these reasons:

1.) No complaints or issues with the BBB

2.) Google reviews were high

3.) When we got our quote back from Scott it was VERY professional and detailed, like the warranty, type of shingle, after the work is done a magnetic will be used to collect any loose nails, etc. No questions needed with that quote.

4.) Price was reasonable and there was no issues, so the quote was exactly what we paid.

I would use Colorado Pro Roofing again! They started around 7:30am and everything was done by 3pm. Bonus. We love our new roof and have no complaints.

Scott and Team are amazing to work with. They did a stellar job with our roof and gutter replacement, and deck repair project. Scott is a true professional and kept my wife and me updated every step of the way. We had initially considered other contractors for the job, and came back to the first team we considered - Colorado Pro Roofing, and I am so happy we did. I highly recommend this company if you want the work completed professionally, thoroughly and timely. We will most definitely use them for future home repair projects. Thank you Scott and team on a job well done.

Peace of Mind. You're looking to hire a company for your exterior home project. You have found the best company! The uncertainty of a fair cost and unknown dilemma if the work will be done properly only adds to your concerns. Colorado Pro Roofing does an excellent job of putting those concerns at ease.

Scott not only does the on-site estimate himself; he also ensured that everything was done properly. His crew was extremely professional, and worked with such diligence. From start to finish, working with Colorado Pro Roofing has been such a great experience.
We love Colorado Pro Roofing! Queries are answered promptly. The estimates were very fair. Scott is certainly organized. He monitors the work done by subcontractors for quality. His own work is precise and finely executed. Our home is over seventy years old and many updates were completed including paint, drywall, electrical work, light fixtures and plumbing. We had a great experience with this company. Betsi and Phil.

Great company and service! Scott was quick and professional. We had a leak in our roof and Scott was able to identify the problem within about 5 minutes. He was then able to make a quick turnaround and return the next day to fix it. Communication was always clear. He texted me ahead of time to let me know when he was coming and gave me a heads up when he would be arriving 15 minutes later than he expected. Will definitely be reaching out to the company again when we need work done on the roof.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hail Damage Roofing FAQs

These are common questions homeowners ask after hail, wind, leaks, and storm damage along Colorado's Front Range.

How do I know if my roof has hail damage?

Hail damage is not always visible from the ground. A professional roof inspection can identify visible hail strikes, granule loss, shingle bruising, damaged roof vents, flashing damage, gutter dents, and other storm-related concerns.

Can hail damage cause roof leaks later?

Yes. Hail damage may not leak immediately, but it can remove protective granules, bruise shingles, fracture the fiberglass mat, weaken the roofing system, and increase the risk of future leaks.

Do all hail-damaged roofs need replacement?

No. Some hail-damaged roofs can be repaired. Replacement may be recommended when damage is widespread, the roof is older, the shingle system is compromised, or repairs will not provide a reliable long-term solution.

Can you help with roof insurance claims?

Yes. Colorado Pro Roofing can provide inspection support, visible damage documentation, adjuster meeting support when appropriate, supplement guidance, and SB-38 compliant roofing claim assistance.

What does hail do to asphalt shingles?

Hail can knock protective granules loose, bruise the asphalt layer, fracture the fiberglass reinforcement mat, create cracks, damage seal strips, and reduce the shingle's ability to resist weather over time.

Do you repair wind damage too?

Yes. Colorado Pro Roofing provides wind damage roofing services for missing shingles, lifted shingles, creased shingles, flashing damage, storm leaks, and emergency repair needs after severe weather.
